Within my Career, I've worked for several successful companies. In that time I have learnt a lot about design, patterns, production and marketing.

 

Pattern Design encompasses the technical side of designing and requires accuracy and foresight, envisaging the flat pattern into a completed garment, worn on a body. This skill is developed over years of experience and understanding of the sub-straight and the design in which it is about to be created into.

 

I believe in digital technology and paperless office work. By allowing technology to aid our speed and productivity in the Fashion Industry, great quantities can be achieved in minimal time frames. Fashion turnaround times are reduced, therefore providing design sketch to shop floor in record time. I pride myself on being extremely well organised and efficient with excellent time management skills.

 

I have a high level of stretch experience from swimwear, active wear & body contour garments, also underwire and bra cup shaping and fitting. My other experiences are in casual wear, beach & resort wear. I have created collections for ladies, children, babies and men, including grading for broad size ranges and plus sizes.

My production and management skills provide clients with costing assistance and insight into possible production issues, or production marking. I work hard to ensure I have a complete understanding of the Clients’ brand aesthetic and handwriting, with strong ability to create initial patterns from design drawings including good design balance and proportion, in line with the clients’ brand market position, price architecture and commerciality.

 

I have worked on many new designs and worked with other skilled designers and pattern makers on overcoming design, construction or production issues and I consider this to be a strength that only experience can provide.

 

I am a qualified Trainer and Assessor, and have trained staff and students on Gerber and in Pattern Making Swimwear, as well as train and manage staff on design room processes and general functioning of a design room.
